På Mälaren Hästklinik kan man göra en månads praktik, ett så kallat externship. Detta är öppet för veterinärstudenter som genomgått del av utbildningen i Sverige eller utomlands, och som vill ha mer praktisk erfarenhet.
Mälaren Equine Practice can offer a one month externship for veterinary medicine students from Sweden and abroad. For more information about the program and application process:
Mälaren Equine Practice offers a one month externship program for veterinary students in their final year or about to start their final year of veterinary training. The purpose of the program is to provide the extern with experiences of working at an equine veterinary hospital and referral practice. The extern will participate in the daily work, monitoring patients and helping out with procedures. The level of practical involvement will depend on the capabilities of the extern and as deemed appropriate by the responsible clinicians. Due to Swedish regulations, veterinary students from outside the EU/EES will have limited opportunities for performing treatments, but will be able to partake in other procedures. The externship is for a period of one month, starting at the beginning of the month. This period can be extended by mutual agreement. A maximum of 12 externship opportunities are available each year.
Application is via email to email@example.com . Please include a letter of intent and a brief presentation of yourself. Also include what month or months you would be available to participate. Please provide the email address to two referees.
English is understood by all employees at the practice. If the extern does not speak Swedish, it is essential that the extern can speak, understand and write in English.

Personal medical travel insurance must be purchased prior to starting the externship. Please bring a copy your first day.
